CSU System Support

Humboldt State is an active member in the CSU Quality Improvement Program. Quality Improvement(QI) is the concept of promoting continuous efforts to improve outcomes and service by bringing people together to use fully supported QI tools and techniques such as:

  • Baldridge "Excellence in Higher Education" Assessment, Planning, and Goal-setting
  • Reusable Quality Improvement Project Templates and Training
  • Access to Information and Resources that Promote Learning
  • Customer/Stakeholder Surveys
  • Process Mapping
  • Programatic and Department Meeting Facilitation
  • System-wide Collaborations with Other Campuses

What services are available to you?
The Quality Improvement Program supports your on-going efforts by providing three main support resources.

First, we provide a framework for your department or team quality improvement projects. The Humboldt State Quality Improvement Project Tracking framework organizes an improvement methodology that produces quantifiable results and improves outcomes. At a time when all departments are doing more with less and challenged to make decisions with data, it is critical to prioritize improvement efforts that increase efficiency, improve service, and reduce cost.

Secondly, our campus partners with the CSU Quality Improvement Program to design surveys that capture valuable information to help guide your improvement projects.

Our third support resource is to provide Quality Improvement training based on campus needs. The QI program is designed to support campus groups, departments, and leaders with tools to tackle the challenges they face in providing services to students and stakeholders.

CSU Recognizes Humboldt QI Facilitator.

The CSU Sytem-wide Quality Improvement Program, recognized Phil Rouse as QI Facilitator of the Year at the annual QI Symposium in February this year. In the photo below, David DeMauro and Richard West present the award certificate at the ceremony.
